European Championships history
Eurosaf European Championship in match-racing – Toyota Sopot Match Race 2007 is already the 9th edition of the fight for the European title in match racing.
European Championship in match racing, since its very beginning, are being supervised by the European Sailing Federation EUROSAF. The winner gains a title, a lot of points counted in the ISAF World Match Racing Rankings and a Piratherne Trophy awarded by the Royal Danish Yacht Club.

Polish sailors have also participated in the previous editions of the European Championship in match-racing. In 2003 Karol Jabłoński won the title, in 1999 he was the second, in 2000 he was 8th, and 5th in 2002. Apart from him, Przemysław Tarnacki was 5th in 2003 and 8th in 2004. Marek Stańczyk, who represented Poland in 2006, finished 6th.
